Lent Day 5: Not entirely helpless
While we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (For rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person perhaps someone might possibly dare to die.) But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous[i] by his blood, we will be saved through him from God’s wrath. (Romans 5:6-9)
Sometimes we feel utterly helpless (and we ARE! in our own strength.) But someone powerful, righteous, and perfect before God loves you and me. That's Jesus.
God is strong enough for any challenge. Good enough to keep his promises. Faithful enough to forgive. Loving enough to bridge the distance between himself and us. He wants to share his love with you today.
Where do you feel helpless? Where do you need God's attention and forgiveness for failures of attitude, thoughts, and actions?
