Lent Day 38: Last days and last words

Today's reading is John 12-14. (Watch the videos below if you prefer.) The last days of Jesus are filled with emotion and tender moments, as well as oppression and injustice.
John says Jesus "loved his own and loved them to the end."

  • What does the kindness and love of Jesus for those around him tell us about God? What claims does Jesus make about finding the way to God his father?
  • What request does Jesus make of his followers - about staying close to him and loving each other?
  • How good are believers about doing this, and what has been the effect in the world?
  • How did Jesus serve both skeptics and his followers? Have you ever done anything like this?
