Lent Day 34: The WORD - John tells the story
John was perhaps the closest friend of Jesus, called "the beloved disciple." He tells about the mission of God through the words of Jesus, while Matthew, Mark, and Luke focus more on the actions of Christ.
John tells us what was important to Jesus as he set priorities for worship, for being close to God, and for responding to human needs.
In our reading today, John 1-2 (watch the videos below if you prefer), John tells of the questions John the Baptist had as the cousin of Jesus. He also records the first miracle - turning water to wine. The generosity of God is always bigger than we think it will be: you could serve 2000 people with the amount of wine Jesus made!
Questions to ask:
John 1:1-18
John 1:19-34
John 1:35-51
John 2:1-11
John 2:12-25
