Lent Day 30: The cost of following Jesus

Some stories are familiar in many cultures. Jesus tells parables that people can relate to. Some in our reading today (Luke 14-16) are the Prodigal Son, and the rich man and Lazarus, a beggar.

Luke 14:1-24
Luke 14:25-15:10
Luke 15:11-32
Luke 16:1-18
Luke 16:19-31

Questions to ask:

  • What does Jesus tell us about the requirements of reconciling with God?
  • What does he tell us about the separation between those who are in heaven and those who will not admitted?
  • Have you asked God to forgive your sins and accepted his forgiveness? Have you begun to obey the teaching of Jesus? Why or why not?
