Lent Days 27-29: Healthy bounds of sound friendships

I rejoiced with those who said to me,

“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
May there be peace within your walls
    and security within your citadels.
For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
    I will seek your prosperity.
Psalm 122:1, 7-9

Gratefully received
Day 27: generous gifts from friends
Day 28: linens for hospitality
Sabbath: worship in God's house
Day 29: a day of resting

Many good things are possible within healthy boundaries. The Psalmist lists generosity, purity, worship, and rest, just a few of the things that the righteous enjoy.

Who draws you into those things? These are your true friends.

Who - or what - tries to take them away from you? Be on guard against them.

Let's choose the peace and security of God's protection. Let's work for the prosperity and joy of those who love God and serve him.
