Lent Day 39: The genius of God

In him we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of our trespasses,
according to the riches of his grace,
Ephesians 1:7 ESV

We call it "genius" when someone comes up with an unthinkable idea that transforms the way we interact.

God calls into being a universe, complete with planets and stars and open space. "In him we live and move and have our being," exults one writer.

He invents life - plants, animals, and humans who can respond and worship him. And when we throw away our special relationship, he is ready with an idea we would never have thought of on our own.

He sends his Son among us to restore and reconnect us to himself. Pure genius. Unthinkable generosity. Unfathomable love.

Let's worship him with all our hearts and all our understanding.
