Lent Day 3: Fixtures in the sky

We usually take the sun, moon, and stars for granted. As children, we're curious about the lights in the sky. But as adults, we often ignore their splendor and display of optics, physics, and engineering.

The Psalmist wrote a great reminder for us:

Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars! For he commanded, and they were created. Psalm 148:3,5 NEV

The Bible says:
This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 1 John 3:1 NLT
Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Revelation 15:3 NIV
Here's a wonderful prayer for the day:
Almighty One, you shine on us through your sun, your moon, your stars. Day or night, we need only look to the heavens to feel your presence and know that you are there for us. May your light shine on everyone. Amen.
