Chaos multiplied

We pack up our stuff from one office building to move to another. My file cabinet sat on a plusher carpet in the old - the difference of 1/4" on the tape measure means it doesn't fit under the desk in the new space. Someone brings along a cordless drill and I take out the long shelf desk that's too low. The black metal file goes into another room.

All week, I am eager to sort out the dump of stuff. But I have to wait until the wall is repaired. The holes mudded and primed for painting next week. So I sit on the floor with my laptop, able only to access email. Thinking of what I could be doing from home. The move manager wants us at the office each day, but pulls the installer from my office to another job, promising to help with setup himself, another time.

I buy a small glass desk to put beside two file cabinets under the window. I'll add a bookshelf, round glass table, 3 chairs, and a few long mirrors to bring in more light... There's even a coat hook on the door to hang and hide cycling clothes. It's enough.

The college pres has cleared the lobby of everything and declared it a gallery. So we're all minimizing. Let's see how it lasts. I still have to sort through the file boxes to see what to keep and what to toss.
